When we came back off holiday this year we arrived home to a massive surprise. We walked in to the house to be greeted by an awful damp smell, which we had no idea what it was. We found out pretty quickly when we went into the front room and saw that the carpet was completely sodden and there were huge pockets of water hanging from the ceiling plaster. At first we had no idea what had happened and we thought that it must be a leak from the bathroom. However, when we got upstairs we saw that the ceiling in the bathroom was also full of these big water pockets, some of which had burst. This led us up into the loft where we found that the water tank had overflowed. I immediately rang our house insurance providers who offer a 24hr helpline, and they started to put things into action to get the place fixed, which was such a relief.
