By admin | April 28, 2009
A recent study at the University of Geneva showed that certain plant chemicals in green tea, called “catechin polyphenols”, increase fat burning in the body. So, yes, it is true that green tea burns fat.
Green tea is said to have numerous other health benefits as well. Green tea increases alertness, helps strengthen your immune system, and can help decrease stress. But if you are on a diet, the fat-burning effect is exciting news.
There are some diets nowadays that actually recommend drinking large quantities of green tea every day. But a safe way to start the habit is by trying to consistently drink just two cups per day.
Green tea is easy to brew as well. You can find it in tea bag form at almost any grocery, and it has a pleasant taste whether hot or iced.
