Prescribing a Drug Problem (Part 2)

By admin | March 21, 2008

Have you ever considered the fact that when you go to pick up your prescription at the pharmacy that they might be prescribing you a drug problem in the future?  This is a very real and very serious issue facing many doctors and patients today.  And who is abusing this the most?  Your children.  That’s right.  More and more children nowadays are getting into their parent’s medication for several reasons.  For one thing, that parent might be working long hours and never has a chance to really spend the kind of quality time with their child that they need to.  As a result, the child may feel depressed or like the parent doesn’t care for them, therefore getting into the parent’s drugs as a means to help them cope with the emotional distress.  For other children, abusing prescription drugs might stem from peer pressure at school.  There are many children who go through school being made fun of and put down, and for some of those victims, the only solution is drugs.  And what easier way to get them than your parent’s medicine supply since they are so accessible!
