Cafe Alessi are an exelent edition to any table top

By admin | June 29, 2008

"Il caffè Alessi" cups are made of bone china, a light, transparent porcelain with a warm ivory colour. Used by Alessi and Invented in England in the first half of the eighteenth century, bone china is a porcelain made of 40% bone ash, 35% kaolin and 25% feldspar and clay. The cups are first fired at 1200°C, which prepares it for the application of white enamel, fired at 1100°C. Once enamelled, the trademark is applied to the cup. Finally, if necessary, it is coloured and fired again at 700-800°C.
