Visit the Shedd Aquarium

The Shedd Aquarium, which has been a hallmark of Chicago for more than seventy-five years, has a number of great exhibits that you and the whole family are sure to love. In the Wild Reef area, you can see several different species of shark, including sandbar and black-tipped reef sharks. You can also get a good underwater look at a mangrove forest there. In the Oceanarium, you can see two different species of penguin, as well as some beluga whales. Watch a show featuring Pacific white-sided dolphins there too. In Amazon Rising, you can see animals from all over the rainforest, including caiman, piranha, and the green anaconda, which is one of the most incredible reptiles in the world. In the Caribbean Reef, you can see some fascinating underwater predators like the green moray eel and the lighting quick barracuda, which has a bite so fierce it snaps its prey in two! Don’t miss some of the special exhibits. They now feature a true monster – the Komodo dragon! It is an opportunity that you don’t want to pass up. The Shedd Aquarium is famous with good reason. It offers a number of great things for the whole family to se and do, and there are few places where learning is also this much fun.
