The Series of AMD Athlon Processors

By admin | February 28, 2008

Maybe some of us are not so familiar with AMD and its products.  AMD is the maker of the Athlon Processors. AMD Athlon Processors have gone through a series of evolution and improvements.  Athlon  is a Greek word that means champion of the games.  Well, I think that’s a good word to describe your product.  The Athlon series of AMD started with the Athlon Classic during the mid of 1999. After that, a series of computer processors followed.  Athlon Classic was followed by the Thunderbird (T-bird), Palomino, Athlon XP/MP, Thoroughbred (T-bred), Barton, and Athlon 64 series. I hope I got the correct series.  The Athlon Turion 64 is like the Intel dual core and the Athlon Opteron is like Intel’s quad core.  Maybe we should now all try AMD Athlon processors and see for our selves what it really can do…
